Islamophobic posts from the Ramsgate councillor were uncovered in March 2019. In the public interest, they are shared here.
When the posts were unearthed and began to circulate in March 2019, Paul Messenger first tried to deny the posts were his, but then once he realised the evidence was undeniable, he admitted guilt and was suspended from the Conservative party. He remained a KCC councillor for Ramsgate on Kent County Council.
On May 6th he can be voted out – if the public do the right thing.

On 20th July 2015, Paul Messenger shared a hate-speech filled post called ‘A German’s View on Islam’ adding his own introduction which stated ‘this is by far the best explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read’ and insisting on its accuracy. The post was dedicated to arguing that the existence of ‘peace-loving Muslims’ should be ignored because ‘fanatics rule Islam at this point in history’. The idea of a violent Islamist uprising is presented as inevitable. It included comments such as ‘in the UK Muslim communities refuse to integrate’, ‘there are dozens of no-go zones across the country’.

Paul Messenger is standing again for one of the two Ramsgate division seats in the coastal town of Ramsgate. Fingers crossed the people of Ramsgate reject him soundly at the ballot box.
